Show up, and line up. It's easy. Anyone can participate!
The parade is a wonderful opportunity to connect with our community as hundreds of residents and visitors flock to the streets of downtown, Bellingham on Saturday, March 14, 2020. The committee invites marching bands, neighborhood associations, schools, musical groups, dancers and green and local businesses to participate. Entry is free and open to all family-friendly, non-political groups. The parade committee encourages floats, cars, and marching bands to register by using the signup form below. Everyone else may just show up at the staging area in your finest green (parking lot of Woodsmiths, the Habitat Store, Cool Beans Espresso, Mobile Music and Two Thimbles) between 11:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
Registration required for cars, floats, musical groups (and horses!)
Where is the staging area? Where does the parade start and end?
The Parade will start at Noon in the parking lot of Woodsmiths and Habitat for Humanity, at the corner of Cornwall Ave. and Ohio. Plan to arrive at the staging area between 11 & 11:30.
It will be a sea of green. Just sit tight and wait for a Parade Committee Member. They will let you know where to stand, and when its your turn to march.
The Parade heads South on Cornwall Ave., turning left at Chestnut St., and right on Railroad Ave. We'll march past Depot Market Square and turn right at E. Maple St., ending at the parking lot at the Northeast corner of E. Maple and Cornwall Ave right by Boundary Bay Brewery. Spectators welcome!
Still have questions?
Where do I show up? The Parade will start in the parking lot of Cool Beans Espresso, Woodsmiths, Mobile Music & Two Thimbles at the corner of Cornwall Ave & Ohio St.
What time do I show up? Plan to arrive between 11:00am and 11:30am to take your place in line.
Where should I park if I drove to the parade? Parking is available on Halleck Street.
Where is my spot in line? Look for our St. Patricks Day Committee Members who will be staged at the parking lot entrances. We will assemble you according to group type i.e. bikers, musical groups, bands etc. Committee members will direct you on where to go the day of, so don't worry about ‘where your spot in line is’, until you arrive
What if I have a trailer, vehicle, or float (example: trailer for my horses) that needs to be staged ahead of time at the Parade finish? The parade will end on Maple Street heading West. If your entry requires extra space and/or post-parade preparation, there is a large gravel lot located at the end of the parade route, on the East side of Cornwall Avenue. As the parade winds its way to the finish, you’ll continue down Maple St, take a left on Cornwall, and end in the gravel lot located 100 yards further. If you already know you are going to need your ‘horse-trailer’ at the end of the parade, place it there ahead of time!
What’s going on after the Parade? FREE, ALL DAY Entertainment for ALL AGES at Boundary Bay Brewery! Live Music from Noon-4, Irish food specials, Irish Dancing all day in the Bistro & Taproom plus more fun in the Beer Garden. Join Boundary Bay in a toast to the wonderful GREEN community we live in!
